This spicy blackened chicken pairs great with the cooling avocado-lime sauce. It is full of flavor and tastes amazing!
Start by combining all of the spices in a small bowl.
I love this blackened seasoning, and use it all the time! It goes great on both chicken and fish, so I make a large batch of it and keep it in a jar with the rest of my spices.
Sprinkle the chicken breasts with the blackened seasoning. The seasoning can be very spicy, so you may want to lightly season your chicken breasts if you aren’t a fan of spicy food.
Heat oil over medium-high heat for a minute, and then add the chicken breasts. Cook until your chicken is cooked thoroughly.
While the chicken is cooking, make the avocado-lime sauce. Mix a ripe avocado, sour cream, and lime juice. You can stir it by hand, but I usually use my Ninja since it is quicker and makes it very creamy!
If avocados aren’t in season or if you can’t find a ripe avocado, you can also make this by using prepackaged guacamole. Just mix a large scoop of guacamole with sour cream and lime. Although I think a fresh avocado tastes best, I’ve done this many times when I wasn’t patient enough to wait for my avocado to ripen.
